Call for Extended Abstracts – SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED!


Everyone is invited to submit EXTENDED ABSTRACTS for oral and poster presentations in the parallel technical sessions of PhilGEOS 2014.

Researchers, faculty members, geomatics professionals and practitioners, as well as undergraduate and graduate students conducting researches and applying Geomatics in all aspects of public service, and closely-related areas  are encouraged to submit abstracts.

We welcome extended abstracts of papers discussing Geomatics research, development and applications in different areas related to or affecting public service such as but not limited to:

  • Agriculture and Food Security
  • Atmosphere, Climate and Weather
  • Defense, Intelligence and National Security
  • Education
  • Energy
  • Environment and Natural Resources Monitoring and Management
  • Hazards and Disaster Management
  • Health
  • Land Administration and Management
  • National and Local Governance
  • Social Welfare and Development
  • Transportation, Infrastructure and Facilities Management
  • Tourism
  • Urban, Regional and Local Planning

We encourage submission of abstracts of both academic and non-academic papers related to the symposium theme and topics/focus areas. Academic papers are those that describe results of research, development and applications of Geomatics. Non-academic papers are those that describe experiences on the use of Geomatics, or those that describe Geomatics industry projects. Abstracts of papers that promote commercial products or companies will not be accepted.

All submitted abstracts will be screened by the PhilGEOS Technical Program Committee. If an abstract is accepted, the committee will decide if it will be presented orally or through a poster. Authors of accepted abstracts (either as oral or poster) are required to submit full papers.

Abstracts should be submitted online through the unified Registration and Abstract Submission page. Authors who have successfully submitted their abstracts will receive a notification e-mail.
